Version 8.21
What's new
InScope-AML version 8.21 will start being rolled out to our cloud environments in March 2026. On-premise environments will receive these updates shortly after and may be updated along with previous versions.
Malta FIAU REQ 2026
The REQ feature in InScope-AML has undergone several enhancements and additions to help Maltese Subject Persons prepare this year’s Risk Evaluation Questionnaire (REQ) submissions more efficiently.
Additional Comments field on questions
Users going through the REQ wizard in the system can now enter comments. Each question now comes with its own comment text field. These comment fields are independent of the question’s answers, and can be edited and saved at any time, regardless of whether the answer to the question is locked. The comment fields themselves cannot be locked as part of the question.
The ‘Comments’ box appears beneath the answer of each question. It can be edited by clicking the ‘Edit’ button in the top-right corner of the box.

Once a comment has been entered, it can simply be saved by clicking ‘Save’ in the top right corner of the box, or discarded by clicking on ‘Cancel’.

This comment field allows users to provide additional explanations or a rationale for how certain answers were selected. It also allows the input of information, for the sake of having everything in one place, even for customer-related questions that usually don’t have data stored in the system.
Option to Export All REQ data
A new functionality has been added that allows users to export all data from the REQ wizard as an excel worksheet. This export includes a summary sheet with the environment name, the REQ year and template used, the time and day of export, and the total number of active questions exported.
In this worksheet, there is a separate sheet for each question, which includes the question description, any relevant notes, the comments field, and a list of all the underlying data that makes up the answer to the question.
This data can be exported at any time within the REQ wizard. To export it, click on ‘Export All’ in the top right corner of the wizard.

This export allows compliance teams to review and organise their REQ reporting data outside the system when preparing their final submission. The document can be shared internally for review or sign-off and provides a clear audit trail by showing the underlying data supporting each reported figure.
Country List Updates
Country lists used within the REQ reporting logic have been updated in line with the FATF and EU Commission publications as at the end of last year, aligning with FIAU requirements.
Support for Additional REQ Templates
Starting from 2026’s reporting cycle, support has been introduced for two additional REQ templates:
- Investment Services
- Credit Institutions
These templates align with the specific question sets published by the FIAU for these specific license categories. InScope-AML is committed to supporting Malta’s regulated sectors and our expanding client base.
To access these templates from within the system, navigate to the ‘Reports’ tab, then head to the ‘REQ’ section. From here, you may click on ‘Add REQ’ to add a new template.

Upon selecting the “2026” as the reporting year, you may now select the new options of Investment Services and Credit Institutions.

Additional Reporting Options
A few new reporting options were introduced to accommodate a wider range of customer-set methodologies and interpretations of the questions. On select questions, the following can be selected:
- An option to report on the jurisdiction of PEPs based on nationality, instead of residence.
- An option to automatically account for stakeholders linked to clients.
- An option relating to the count of clients being provided a service.
- An option to filter clients based on termination reason per individual service.
Minor Changes
- The One-Time Search screen has been re-ordered to now show the latest searches on top of the page, rather than the bottom.
- New segment filter condition ‘Number of ID Documents attached’ added to allow segmentation based on the amount of ID document files attached to individuals, and to support creation of further customizable ID attachment rules.
- Segment reports now include the following columns:
System Entity ID – the entity’s unique system reference number.
Rejection Date – the date of when the client’s latest service was rejected.
Face-to-Face Interaction – data from Basic Details’ ‘Face-to-Face Option’
Gender – applicable only to Segment Entity Type ‘Individual’
Team(s) – applicable only in environments with ‘Teams’ functionality.
- Status Remarks now appear in the PDF client/internal report.
- Added new permission ‘View Entity Documents’, which allows viewing of documents without the ability to download them.
Bug Fixes
- Fixed the exporting of report summary failing when a single report query was not available in the real-estate module.
- Fixed situations where documents that didn’t surpass size limit were not able to be uploaded.
- Other minor back-end fixes & security updates.
